What is an immigration bond?

An immigration bail bond is a guarantee to the court that the arrested individual will appear at all necessary dates set up by the Immigration Court. This promise is secured by a cash bond that is paid directly to the USICE or the Immigration Court insuring that the person meets all of their court or DHS obligations. After completion of the removal proceedings, the money is returned to the obligor, the person who paid the cash bond, unless the alien fails to meet his obligation to report to DHS as required under the bond conditions.
